The Best Part of Keeping a Journal

The best part of keeping a journal is having a fireplace. When you don't stand your life anymore because either it's really boring (as we all are, in a way or another, a very demanding audience to ourselves) or you cannot bear anymore the "you" of years, months, weeks, days, or even minutes ago, you can go to your fireplace and watch your older self slowly become smoke and heat through words and paper. Beautiful. The best pages ever written. No much work for future archaelogists, though.
